çïâ÷äñ/O, Sun-Ae
Abstract
The puropose of this study was to determine the relationships between variables of job satisfaction and burnout level.
The subjects of this study were of 155 clinical nurses who work at C.hospital university
Data were collected from 13th to 21st May, 1991.
The research instruments were used for the job satisfaction scale developed by Paula, and Burnout scale developed by Pines, et.al., which was translated by Hong.
Data were analyzed by statistical methods including frequency one-way ANOVA, t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient.
The results of this study were as follows:
1. Hypothesis ¡°The higher job satisfaction, the Lower Burnout Level¡± was supported. (r=-0.6425, P<.001)
2. the relationship between the subject¡¯s general characteristics and such variables was as follows:
The relationships between job satisfaction, age, marital, status, the final education and hospital experience were significant.
3. The relationship between the subject¡¯s general characteristics and burnout level was as follows:
The relationships between burnout level, age, marital, status, hospital experince, nursing unit and present title were signigicant.
The correlation between job satisfaction and burnout level was proved to be strongly correlated.
It is therefore, necessary to establish an administration support as a means to improve the job satisfaction of nurses.
This administrative support should be aimed at developing the nursing profession not only by reducing the burnout level but also by improving the quality of nursing.
